Energy Assessment Courses

A domestic energy assessor is responsible for producing an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), for a domestic property.

An EPC is a mandatory requirement for any property in the UK, which is being sold or rented and the certificate is valid for a period of 10 years.  The duties of the Energy Assessor are performed on-site in the property being assessed and the report will require the following details:

  • Establishing the age and construction method of the property.
  • Measuring floor and wall areas of the property.
  • Looking at heating systems including the boiler, heat emitters and controls.
  • Identifying existing cavity wall and loft insulation.
  • Identifying any alternative heating (e.g. solar) and energy-efficient products (e.g. energy saving light bulbs).

In addition to the above requirements for the report, the EPC now serves another important purpose, when considering energy efficiency measures, funded by the Energy Company Obligation schemes (ECO), or the ‘former’ Green Homes Grant initiatives.

JWP Success Ltd can offer you Domestic Energy Assessor Training, which will not only equip you with the relevant, NVQ Level 3 qualification to undertake energy assessments, but will provide several avenues for career development and job progression.

WE ARE THE ONLY COMPANY IN THE UK TO GUARANTEE COMPLETION IN JUST TWO WEEKS!

Job security is far greater in the energy market than any other industry at present.

What is PAS 2035?

PAS 2035 refers to The retrofit standards framework

2035 specifies requirements for retrofit of dwellings, including:

  • assessment of dwellings for retrofit;
  • identification and evaluation of improvement options (energy efficiency measures)
  • design and specification of EEMs (whether individual measures or packages of multiple measures)

and

  • monitoring and evaluation of retrofit projects.

If you are wanting to participate in Retrofit Assessment and Advice, this course is mandatory within the 2035 specification, and is a great way to upskill on your existing knowledge.

PAS 2035 and the link to PAS 2030:2019

For domestic retrofit projects, PAS 2035 and PAS 2030:2019 are effectively “locked together”, that is because one standard cannot not be used without the other.  The only exception is installation of some measures in accordance with the MCS standards, rather than PAS 2030, where specified.

JWPS run this course combined with the NVQ DEA, or stand alone.

The DEA qualification is the entry level requirement for this course.

PAS 2030:2019

PAS stands for ‘Publicly Available Specification

If you are wanting to install under the 2030:2019 standard, you will need (or your team will need) to achieve the Level 2 Insulation and Building Treatments qualification.  Once you have the standard, we can then offer you the specific pathway you are providing.  Pathways include:

  • Wall Tie Replacement
  • Solid Floor Insulation
  • Under Floor Insulation
  • Cold Roof Insulation
  • Damp Proofing

JWPS can support you through this process, until you have achieved the qualification in the pathway you require.  We understand that when people work in the trade, they prefer to be ‘on the tools’, rather than ‘in the classroom’. We have many years experience working with trade professionals and work with partners who can assist you with:

  • Obtaining the right paperwork (Quality Management System)
  • Ongoing support to complete the PAS standard in order to achieve certification

In addition to this, we can advise on the ‘Retrofit Process’ which is a requirement under the latest 2019 specification.

What does ‘Bespoke’ mean to me?

Exactly as it sounds, JWP Success Ltd is a Highfields Accredited Training Centre, which means that we can custom make a course, which is specific to your business.

For example, you may want your company recognised as an industry leader in ‘Insulation Measures’.

We can tailor make a course for your business, that all your employees, or sub contractors have to attend, prior to installing your product.  They would be ‘Accredited’ to your company standard and in return, your customers would recognise your quality mark and expect the high standards that you have worked so hard to maintain.

Having a good reputation in the energy and installation industry is pivotal with so much competition.

Think of Greggs the bakers, Marks and Spencer the retailers, McDonalds, the fast food chain… all of these businesses have their own ‘in house’ training standard and recognised ‘accreditation’, so every employee and worker has to undergo a full training program, before engaging with the companies customers.

If you want recognition of quality, for your brand, talk to us, we can write industry specific content and tie the material in with your  code of conduct standards.

JWP Success Ltd can provide ID cards and Lanyards with your brand on for all your trainees who pass these courses.
