About Rhubarb Farm

Angela Keyworth is a Board Director for Rhubarb Farm CIO.  Passionate about ‘giving back’, we are dedicated to providing support in anyway possible to this amazing charity, which recognises the need for inclusion.

What is Rhubarb Farm?

Rhubarb Farm is a horticultural-based environmental social enterprise, based in Langwith, on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border, providing services to:

  • The unemployed
  • Recovering drug and alcohol misusers
  • Ex-offenders
  • Young people not in education, employment or training (NEET)
  • Excluded school students
  • People with learning disabilities
  • People with mental and physical ill health
  • Ex-service personnel
  • Older isolated people and people with dementia 

How do we do it?

We use the therapeutic organic horticulture model for developing skills, confidence and employability, and for improving health and well-being.  We grow fruit and vegetables organically and keep poultry for eggs.  Our services include:

  • Production of weekly veg bags for local customers 
  • Health promotion through green gym activities 
  • Exciting environmental and
  • Vegetable Growing sessions for school/educational visits 
  • Corporate Challenge Days for businesses, local and central government and voluntary organisations’ staff teams  
  • Men in Sheds Project on site 
  • Garden Maintenance Team 
  • Winter pig-keeping 
  • Onsite Farm Shop
  • Training Centre, dedicated to children and adults with learning disabilities

Who do we support?

We offer support to people who have mental ill health, physical ill health, learning disability, physical disability, dementia, are school students struggling with their behaviour at school, are recovering drug or alcohol misusers, ex-offenders, or are ex-service personnel with PTSD.

Everyone who attends Rhubarb Farm, is known as a Volunteer, as we believe that everyone has something valuable to contribute individually.
